Quick Arena Search
The quick search page helps you find a sports arena in your city in seconds. Pick a city and a sport — and instantly see available arenas. For an even quicker check, peek at the schedule right on the card.
What This Page Does
The /slots/quick page is a simplified and faster way to find a sports arena. This page is perfect for:
- Finding an arena fast — when you need a court right now, without diving into complex filters
- Simple browsing — no advanced filters, just the essentials
- Guests and signed-in users — the page works for everyone
- Searching your chosen city — you see only arenas in your current city
This page is simpler than the full slot search. There are no filters at all beyond picking a city and a sport — for finer control, visit the full slots search page.
How to Find an Arena
Finding an arena on the quick search page takes just two simple steps:
Step 1: Pick a City
The quick search page starts by asking you to pick a city. You have two options:
- Auto-detect (recommended) — the page uses your browser’s geolocation to automatically detect your current city
- Manual pick — if auto-detection is disabled or you want a different city, click the city selector at the top and choose from the available list
The arena list will only show arenas in your chosen city.
Step 2: Pick a Sport
Once you’ve selected a city, you can pick a sport. The sport selector shows all sports that are available in your chosen city. The list depends on which city you picked — different cities may have different sports available.
The sport selector is locked until you choose a city. Once you pick a sport, the arena list updates to show only arenas that offer that sport.
Browse the Results
After you’ve picked a city and sport, you’ll see a list of matching arenas as cards. You can browse through the available options and check details or schedules.
How to Read an Arena Card
Each arena is shown as a card with the following information:
Photo and Name
At the top is a photo of the arena, its name, and address. The photo helps you recognize the place quickly.
Amenities (Icons)
Below the name are small icons representing amenities (parking, Wi-Fi, showers, lockers, etc.). Icons are hidden by default — hover your mouse (on desktop) or tap (on mobile) to see a tooltip with the amenity name.
The amenity icons are a quick visual way to see what’s available without cluttering the interface. Hover or tap to see the label.
Schedule Button
Each card has a Schedule button (or calendar icon). Click it to open a compact popover with a quick schedule view for that arena.
Quick Schedule Popover
When you click the Schedule button on an arena card, a small popover opens showing a brief schedule for the arena over the next few days.
What the Popover Shows
- Facilities — a list of courts, halls, or fields at the arena
- Schedule heatmap (compact) — a sample of hours with color-coded free slots
- Price — slot cost shown right on the schedule
This is not the full booking interface — just a quick overview. To book, click the card or press the booking button to go to the arena’s full page.
When the Popover Closes
The popover automatically closes in three cases:
- Click the button again — press the same Schedule button once more
- Click outside — click anywhere on the page outside the popover
- Change the city or sport — select a different city or sport and the arena list updates
The popover is just for a quick peek at availability. To actually book a slot, navigate to the arena’s full page by clicking the card itself or the booking button.
States and Errors
Loading
When the page first loads or after you pick a city or sport, you may see a loading indicator — this is normal. Wait a few seconds.
Empty State
If no arenas match your filters, you’ll see an empty message like “No arenas match your criteria” with a suggestion to try a different city or sport.
What to Try
- Try a different sport, if one is available in this city
- Check that you’re in the right city (look for a city selector at the top of the page)
- Go to the full slots search page for more options
- Contact support if the issue persists
Load Error
If something goes wrong while loading, you’ll see an error message with a “Retry” button. Tap it to try loading the data again.
If the error keeps happening, check your internet connection and refresh the page in your browser.
How a Typical Quick Search Works
Open the Page
Go to the quick arena search page (/slots/quick).
Pick a City and a Sport
First, select your city (auto-detected or chosen manually). Then, pick a sport from the list of available options in that city. The sport selector will show only sports available in your chosen city.
Browse the Cards
Scan through the arena cards — look at photos, names, addresses, and amenity icons.
Check the Schedule (Optional)
If you want a quick peek at whether an arena has open slots, click the Schedule button on its card to open a compact popover.
Book or View Full Details
- Quick booking: click the card or the booking button to go to the arena’s full page and complete your booking.
- Full details: if you want to see everything about the arena (complete schedule, all amenities, reviews), click the card.
On Mobile
On a phone, the page adapts:
- City and sport picks scroll horizontally as tiles
- Arena cards take up the full screen width
- Amenity icons also support tapping (instead of hovering like on desktop)
- The schedule popover opens centered on screen, taking up most of the visible space
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between quick search and full slot search?
Quick search (/slots/quick) is a simplified version with a minimal number of steps (just city and sport) and a clean interface. Full search (/slots/advanced) offers advanced filters (amenities, detailed schedules) and more information. Use quick search for spontaneous picks, full search for careful planning.
Can I see exact slot times without the popover?
The quick search shows only basic info on the card. For precise schedules, either click the Schedule button on the card, or click the card itself to open the arena’s full page.
Why don’t I see amenity labels directly on the card?
Amenity icons are shown, but their labels (names) only appear when you hover (on desktop) or tap (on mobile). This keeps the interface clean.
How can I filter by specific amenities like parking or Wi-Fi?
The quick search page doesn’t have amenity filters. If you need specific amenities like parking, go to the full slot search page (/slots/advanced) where advanced filters are available.
Will arenas update if I leave the page open?
No, there are no automatic updates. If you want to refresh the list, refresh your browser.
How do I see the distance to an arena?
On the quick search page, distance may not be shown. Full distance and location info is available on the full slot search page and on each arena’s page.
What if I can’t find the arena I’m looking for?
Try:
- Checking whether a different sport is available in this city
- Checking that you’re in the right city
- Going to the full slot search page for more options
- Refreshing your browser page
If the problem persists, contact support.
Can I book an arena from the quick search page?
No, you can’t book directly from the quick search page. Click the card or the booking button to go to the arena’s full page, where you can complete your booking.
