Searching Available Slots

The slots page shows two sections: arenas with available time slots at the top, and nearby arenas below. Use the filter bar to narrow results by sport, date, and time window.

What This Page Does

The /slots page helps you find a court and book it in one place. It combines two search modes on a single screen:

SectionWhat it showsWhen it’s useful
Available SlotsArenas that have free time matching your filtersWhen you know the date and time and want to book right away
Nearby ArenasArenas close to your location, regardless of slot availabilityWhen the first section runs out and you want to explore more options

Both sections live on the same page — no mode switching needed. The page shows all matching arenas first, then offers nearby alternatives once that list is exhausted.

Filter Bar

The filter bar at the top provides quick filters for sport, date, and time. These filters apply instantly as you adjust them.

Sport selector

Pick the sport you want to play (for example, tennis or padel). The choice applies to both sections — only arenas that support this sport are shown.

All Filters Panel

For more control, click the “All Filters” button to open an expanded filters panel. Here you can adjust:

  • Arena amenities — features like parking, Wi-Fi, showers, and lockers
  • Court amenities — court-specific features
  • All standard filters (sport, date, time)

Important: Changes in the All Filters panel are not applied immediately. You must click the “Apply” button at the bottom of the panel to update results. If you close the panel without clicking Apply, all unsaved changes are discarded.

Section 1: Available Slots

This is the primary search result. It lists arenas that have at least one free slot matching your filters. Each section has a compact banner showing the section name and the total number of results found.

How to Read an Arena Card

Arena Photo

A photo of the arena fills the top of the card. Below the photo you see the arena name, address, and distance from your location on one line.

Facility List

Below the arena header, the card expands into a list of the individual playing surfaces (courts, halls, pitches) inside the arena. Each facility shows:

  • Its own photo and name.
  • A heatmap schedule — a row of hour cells running from 06:00 to 23:00.

Reading the Heatmap

Each cell in the row represents one hour of the day:

  • Green cell — this hour has a free slot. The price is shown directly on the cell.
  • Gray cell — this hour is fully booked or unavailable.

Hover over any green cell to see a tooltip with the exact time interval and the price for that slot (for example, 11:00–12:00 · $15).

The heatmap gives you a quick visual overview of an arena’s entire day. Green means go — tap or click a green cell to proceed to booking that slot.

Occupancy Badge and Hot Facility Markers

While browsing arenas, you may see visual indicators about how busy an arena or facility is:

Occupancy Badge (on arena photos)

In the top-left corner of each arena photo, a small indicator shows how busy the entire arena is during your selected date range. It displays five dots and a percentage:

  • Dots filled from left to right — the more dots filled, the busier the arena
  • Percentage — the exact occupancy rate (for example, 45% or 72%)
  • Color-coded:
    • 🟢 Green (up to 30%) — plenty of free slots, lots of choice
    • 🟡 Yellow (30–60%) — moderate occupancy, some options available
    • 🔴 Red (60% and above) — getting busy, book soon if you like this arena

The occupancy badge reflects all slots except available ones — that includes booked, paid, and closed slots. Percentage = unavailable slots / total slots for the selected dates.

Hot Facility Marker (on facility photos)

Individual facilities inside an arena may also show a red badge with a fire icon in the top-right corner of their photo. This means:

  • That specific facility is over 50% booked during your selected dates
  • It’s a popular court — if you want it, book soon
  • Other facilities in the same arena may still be free

Key Difference: The occupancy badge shows the overall arena status, while the hot marker shows which specific courts are in high demand within that arena. One arena could have busy courts and quiet ones at the same time.

If an arena or facility has no slots at all, neither badge appears — they only show when there’s data to display.

Infinite Scrolling

The list does not show all arenas at once. As you scroll down, more arenas load automatically — no need to click “Next page.”

Section 2: Nearby Arenas

This section appears below the first one, but only after the Available Slots list is fully exhausted. Think of it as a backup.

What it doesWhy it’s there
Shows arenas close to your locationGives you options even when no arena has free slots matching your filters
Uses the sport filterSo basketball players don’t see tennis-only courts
Ignores date and time filtersDistance matters here — availability is checked on the arena’s own page

The cards in this section are compact: a full-bleed photo with the arena name and distance overlaid directly on the image. There are no time details here — click into an arena to see its full schedule.

Nearby Arenas only loads after you’ve scrolled through every result in the Available Slots section. If Section 1 keeps finding matches, Section 2 may not appear at all.

Amenities

You can filter by arena and court amenities using the All Filters panel (see above). Select the amenities you need — parking, Wi-Fi, showers, lockers, and others — and only arenas and courts with all selected amenities will appear in the results.

If you don’t use the amenities filter, the search cards show only schedule and price to keep the focus on what matters most when choosing a slot. To see the full list of amenities for a specific arena, open its page by clicking the card.

The amenities filter makes it easy to find arenas that meet your specific needs without cluttering the search cards.

How a Typical Search Goes

Set Your Filters

Pick the sport, date, and time window you want to play in.

Scan the Heatmap

For each arena, look at the green cells in the facility rows. A green cell means that hour is available at that specific court. The price is right on the cell — no guessing.

Hover for Details

Hover over a green cell to see the exact time slot and price in a tooltip.

Pick a Slot

Click a green cell (or the card) to open the arena page and complete your booking.

Out of Matches?

When there are no more arenas with matching slots, scroll down to see Nearby Arenas — courts close to you worth exploring even without a direct time match.

On Mobile

On a phone, each arena card stacks vertically:

  • The arena photo is full-width at the top.
  • The list of facilities scrolls horizontally inside the card — swipe left or right to see all courts for that arena.
  • Tap a green cell to open the booking page for that slot.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do green and gray cells in the schedule mean?

Each cell covers one hour. Green means a free slot exists during that hour at the specific court — the price is shown on the cell. Gray means the hour is booked or unavailable. Hover a green cell to see the exact start and end time.

I see a price on the cell — is that the total price?

The price shown is for one slot of the standard duration at that court. Hover the cell to see the exact time interval the price applies to. The full breakdown is on the booking page.

How do I filter by amenities?

Open the All Filters panel and select the amenities you need under “Arena amenities” and “Court amenities.” Only arenas and courts with all selected amenities will appear in results. Remember to click Apply to apply your choices.

Why isn’t my filter applying?

If you’re using the All Filters panel, make sure you clicked the Apply button. Changes don’t apply until you click it. Closing the panel without clicking Apply will discard all unsaved changes.

Why don’t I see a “Find a Court” heading at the top?

The page title was replaced by compact section banners — one for Available Slots and one for Nearby Arenas — each showing how many results are in that section.

Why don’t I see the Nearby Arenas section?

Nearby Arenas only appears after the Available Slots list is fully scrolled through. If matches keep loading in Section 1, Section 2 stays hidden until you reach the end.

Does the date filter affect Nearby Arenas?

No. Nearby Arenas is based on location and sport only — date and time are ignored, so you always see options around you even when nothing matches your time window.

How is distance calculated?

Distance is measured from your current location to the arena. The browser will ask for your location permission the first time you visit the page.

What does the occupancy badge mean?

The small indicator on the arena photo (five dots + percentage) shows how busy that arena is for your selected dates. Green (≤30%) means plenty of free slots. Yellow (30–60%) means moderate occupancy. Red (≥60%) means most slots are taken — book soon if you’re interested. The percentage includes all booked, paid, and closed slots.

What is the “hot facility” marker?

A red badge with a fire icon on a facility photo means that specific court is over 50% booked during your selected dates. It’s a popular choice — if you want it, don’t wait. Other facilities in the same arena may still have lots of free time.

Why do I see different occupancy colors for the arena and its facilities?

The arena badge shows the overall average occupancy across all courts. Individual facility markers show which specific courts are hot. One arena can have some busy courts and some quiet ones. Look for facilities without the fire marker if you want more breathing room.
