Notification Settings

Stay informed about important events without unnecessary distractions — configure notifications to receive only the information that truly matters to you.

What are notification settings?

The USR notification system gives you complete control over what information you receive, when, and how. You can configure delivery channels, event types, and notification frequency according to your preferences.

Notification Channels

Choose the convenient ways to receive notifications:

ChannelDescriptionConfiguration
EmailMessages to your inboxCan be enabled/disabled for each notification type
PushBrowser notificationsRequires browser permission, can be enabled/disabled
In-appBell icon in the interfaceAlways enabled, displays all events

Push notifications require your browser’s permission. If you don’t see the permission request, check your site settings in your browser.

Notification Types

Configure which events you want to track in each category:

Security Notifications

Critical events related to your account protection:

  • Account login — every time someone logs into your account
  • Password change — password or security settings modification
  • New device — login from a new device or browser
  • Email change — request to change primary email
  • 2FA activation — enabling or disabling two-factor authentication

Security notifications cannot be completely disabled. You will always receive them in-app, but you can disable email and push.

Configuring Notifications by Category

How to configure delivery channels for each notification type:

Go to notification settings

Open Profile Settings and select the “Notifications” section.

Select a category

Choose the notification category you want to configure: Security, Organizations, System, or Marketing.

Configure delivery channels

For each notification type in the category, select delivery channels:

  • Enable or disable Email
  • Enable or disable Push notifications
  • In-app notifications are always enabled

Save settings

Click the “Save changes” button at the bottom of the page. Settings will be applied immediately.

Quiet Hours

Configure the time when you don’t want to receive notifications (except critical ones):

Quiet hours allow you to avoid distracting notifications during off-hours while preserving important security alerts.

How quiet hours work

  • Set a time range — for example, from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM
  • Choose days of the week — you can set different schedules for weekdays and weekends
  • Exceptions for critical notifications — security events always come through
  • “Do Not Disturb” mode — complete disabling of all notifications for a set time

Weekday configuration

  • Quiet hours: 8:00 PM — 9:00 AM
  • Days: Monday — Friday
  • Exceptions: Security, Critical system

Digest Frequency

Instead of receiving notifications immediately, you can combine them into digests:

FrequencyDescriptionRecommended for
InstantlyNotifications arrive immediately after the eventSecurity, critical events
HourlySummary of events from the last hourOrganizations, active projects
DailyDaily digest at a chosen timeSystem, marketing
WeeklyWeekly summary on MondaysMarketing materials, news

Digests are sent only via email. Push notifications and in-app notifications always arrive instantly.

Configuring digests

  • Choose frequency for each category separately
  • Specify a convenient time for daily digests (e.g., 9:00 AM)
  • Choose a day for weekly digests (Monday by default)

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I completely disable all notifications?

You can disable all email and push notifications in settings, but in-app notifications (bell icon) will remain active. This ensures you don’t miss critically important security events.

For minimal notifications:

  1. Disable email for all categories
  2. Disable push notifications in browser
  3. Keep only in-app notifications

Why am I not receiving email notifications?

Check the following:

  1. Email is verified — go to profile settings and make sure your email is verified
  2. Spam folder — check your spam folder, our emails might have ended up there
  3. Notification settings — make sure email is enabled for the desired categories
  4. Quiet hours — events might be occurring during quiet hours
  5. Digests — if digests are enabled, notifications will arrive later

If the problem persists, contact support.

Can I configure notification sounds?

Notification sounds are controlled by your browser and operating system settings. We cannot change them directly from the application.

To configure sounds:

  • Chrome/Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → Notifications
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy and security → Permissions → Notifications
  • Safari: macOS System Settings → Notifications → Safari

How do I enable push notifications in my browser?

  1. Open notification settings in USR profile
  2. Enable push notifications for desired categories
  3. Allow notifications in the browser prompt
  4. If the prompt didn’t appear, check site settings:
    • Click the lock icon in the address bar
    • Find “Notifications” and set to “Allow”

Push notifications only work on HTTPS and are not supported in incognito mode.

Which notifications cannot be disabled?

Some critically important notifications are always displayed in-app (in the bell icon):

  • Critical security events — login from new device, password change
  • Required actions — email verification required, payment information update
  • Legal notifications — changes to terms of service and privacy policy

However, you can disable email and push for these events. They will only be available in the application interface.

Do notification settings affect organization notifications?

Partially. Your personal notification settings are the default settings for all organizations. However, for each organization you can set individual settings in the organization profile.

Settings priority:

  1. Individual organization settings (if set)
  2. Your personal notification settings
  3. System default settings
